Intent
At Catherine Junior School, our curriculum is designed to provide, through inspiring and engaging experiences, the knowledge and skills to become independent, life-long learners. We believe that design and technology should inspire creativity and imagination, enabling pupils to design and make products which solve real and relevant problems within a variety of contexts. Pupils learn how to take risks, becoming resourceful, innovative, enterprising and capable citizens. Through the evaluation of past and present design and technology, they develop a critical understanding of its impact on daily life and the wider world. Pupils apply their mathematics, science, art, reading and computing skills to design and technology activities.
During lessons, pupils have opportunities to develop their skills and critical understanding of design and technology.
Aims and Objectives
